There’s no set timeline—we’ll be in Nosara from March 23rd to 30th, and you’re welcome to stay as long (or as little) as you’d like. Our Wedding

Please expect that traveling to Nosara requires a full day. We highly recommend flying into the&nbsp;Liberia International Airport&nbsp;(LIR) airport, which is the closest international airport to Nosara. Nosara is a 2.5 to 3 hr drive from Liberia Airport, 40 minutes of which is on bumpy dirt roads. Our wedding planner will be handling the coordination of airport shuttles. The cost is $180 for 1-5 guests per van and $10 per extra person up to 9 guests per van. INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL INFO

Information about traveling internationally to Costa Rica:1. Please remember to bring your passport! We highly recommend when you come to Costa Rica, your passport has 6+ months left before the expiration date.2. Costa Rica customs will ask you for the address of your lodging location.3. You might need to show your departure flight at customs so have it handy.

ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION

There are no Uber or other on-demand car services. A rental car is your alternative option instead of an organized shuttle. Once in Nosara, many of the roads are dirt roads and an SUV is recommended to drive. If you decide to rent a car, please be aware that many times the rental companies add extra fees when you pick up a car in person, compared to the price on the website. If you are planning to arrange your own transportation, please let our wedding planning team know so they can help you. info@weddingsnosara.com

ALTERNATIVE AIRPORTS

Nosara AirportNosara has a small landing strip in downtown Nosara for 10-seater propeller planes. You will need to be mindful of flight times as it has limited daily options and they do not fly past dark. San Jose International Airport (SJO)San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and is very far from Nosara, 6hr drive to Nosara. We do not recommend flying into San Jose, given it is very, very far from Nosara. We would only suggest looking into the San Jose airport if you are looking to plan a longer vacation and travel around all of Costa Rica.!! Please note, if you are flying to San Jose, make sure you book a flight to San Jose, COSTA RICA and not San Jose CALIFORNIA !! This has happened before! :)

In Nosara, you’ll find a unique variety of boutique hotels, cozy Airbnbs, and luxurious villas, no traditional chain hotels here! It’s all about laid-back charm with easy access to cafes, restaurants, and the beach. We’ve secured a full hotel buyout at the <a href="https://nosarabeachhotel.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Nosara Beach Hotel</a> for the nights of March 27th and 28th and have thoughtfully arranged room assignments to best accommodate the majority of our guests. Final room assignments and booking instructions have been shared if you are staying at the hotel. Please reach out if you have any questions. We’d love for you to extend your stay and fully soak in the Nosara experience! You can coordinate additional nights directly with the hotel or explore other nearby accommodations.Due to the size of our group, not all guests will be staying at the Nosara Beach Hotel, and some of you may prefer alternative lodging for extended dates. What is the weather like in March?

Nosara in March is typically hot — the typical day has highs around 93°F and lows around 78°F. The beach and the breeze are great ways to cool off.

WHAT SHOULD I PACK?

In Nosara, the dress style is generally casual and laid-back, reflecting the town's relaxed beach vibe and warm climate. Light, breathable fabrics such as cotton and linen are popular choices, ideal for staying cool in tropical weather. You'll often see people in shorts, sundresses, tank tops, and sandals during the day. In the evening, attire tends to be slightly more polished but still casual, with options like summer dresses for women and button-up shirts or polo shirts with trousers or shorts for men. Comfortable footwear, such as flip-flops or casual sandals, is suitable for most occasions. WHAT IS THE LANGUAGE OF COSTA RICA?

Spanish is the primary language spoken in Costa Rica. However, almost all people working in the hospitality industry speak English.

WHAT CURRENCY DOES COSTA RICA USE?

Costa Rica operates with both local currency (colones) and USD cash. You can come with only American dollars and be just fine! Credit Cards are also widely accepted.

IS THE WATER SAFE TO DRINK?

The water is completely safe to drink in Costa Rica. No need to worry about drinking bottled water.

HOW DO I GET AROUND WHILE IN NOSARA?

Tuk Tuks are available for quick trips, please use our recommended driver Dani&nbsp;<a href="https://www.theknot.com/us/jenny-and-cariad-jan-2025/q-a#" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">+506 8391 1501</a>. He only speaks Spanish, so have Google Translate handy! If he is not available he will send another trusted driver. ATV Rentals or Golf Carts are another commonly used method of transportation. DO I NEED AN INTERNATIONAL PHONE PLAN?

You will want to check with your phone carrier based on your needs. We strongly encourage downloading WhatsApp as it is the common app for communication used throughout Costa Rica and is free while on Wifi.

IS TIPPING EXPECTED IN COSTA RICA?

While not expected tipping is appreciated. WHAT TIME DOES THE SUN SET AND RISE?

In Nosara, the sun typically rises between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM &amp; sets between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM year-round. Since Nosara is close to the equator, sunset times don't vary much throughout the year—maybe only 30 minutes difference between seasons. Keep this in mind when booking dinner—you won't want to miss Nosara's famous sunsets!
